An abnormally tall couple from Singapore, Dawn and Douglas are - quite literally - a head above the rest. They began dancing together in October 2010 and have since performed, competed and taught all around the world, in countries such as France, Croatia, Switzerland, South Africa, the USA, Japan and Korea.
Dawn and Douglas began competing professionally in 2013 and have since become 3-time Asian Salsa Champions, winning regional championships such as the Asia Open Latin Championships in Bangalore and Asia Latin Championship in Singapore consecutively in 2014 and 2015. They have also competed professionally at world-level competitions such as the World Latin Dance Cup in Miami, the Hong Kong World Salsa Championships and the World DanceSport Games in Taiwan, consistently finishing within the Top 15 for each.
Douglas began his dance journey in his 20s under the tutelage of renowned street dancer Lionel Araya. A few years on, he travelled to Barcelona on exchange and trained with the Adrian y Anita Salsa Company for four months.

During that time, he became inspired by the 6-time World Salsa Champions to take his passion for salsa to greater heights.
Dawn started dancing hip hop recreationally in her late teens, but soon discovered that it just wasn't the dance genre suited for the tall and skinny. So she switched over to salsa, receiving instruction from Starlinn Choo - one of Singapore's established dancers - until Douglas came along.
Subsequently, YouTube became the couple's most influential instructor.
Today Dawn and Douglas juggle their full-time jobs in the corporate world whilst continuing to live their dream on the sidelines. They hope that audiences will one day remember them for their energetic choreographies and achievements in competition, rather than their above-average height.
